Alex practices mindfulness in a variety of ways.
In his role as a K-12 Licensed School Counselor, Alex advocates for individual students and school communities. He leads the development and implementation of comprehensive school counseling programs, including the delivery of direct and indirect student services to promote equitable outcomes, achievements, and healthy development of all students.
Since 2006, Alex has been a music educator throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, as well as in rural southern Minnesota. Alex currently coaches drumming for the M2 Foundation’s Saint Paul Youth Drum and Dance (SPYDD) after-school program, as well as the Rhythm of the Saints performance group, partnering with the St. Paul Saints minor league baseball team, and other local festivals and parades.
Alex joined the M2 team in the fall 2014 as a bucket drumming coach, and has since expanded his role by joining the board of directors in the summer of 2015. Alex also frequently travels by bicycle, prepares delicious meals, and creates oxyacetylene-welded art. Alex also notices the rejuvenating benefit of sitting mediation. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
